Our National Union Stands at a Crossroad
When Unifor was created, we put in our constitution, and I quote.
“We are committed to building the strongest and most effective union to bargain on behalf of our members, working with our members to improve their rights in the workplace……. And extending those benefits to non-unionized workers in Canada
I ask you, has this statement described Unifor for the past number of years?
I would argue we have missed our mark; we have gotten off track, and our house is not in order.
Today our union stands at crossroads.
We can stay with the status quo
Or
Towards our rightful standing as the strongest, most effective union in Canada.
That starts with putting our members first, focusing on our members and their jobs.
And like our constitution says, our greatness relies on strong bargaining.
Leaders can say they are fierce or call assisting bargaining experience, but the facts of the matter are, I have what it takes!
I have sat down at the table and faced large corporations with the strength and fortitude to get the deal done or say hell no….and mean it.
My Administration will be based on a member-up approach, relying strongly on local leadership on the ground with our members.
As National President, I will visit our locals to update our members on where we are at as a union but, more importantly, to listen and hear the concerns of our members.

Our national President needs to be visible, transparent and held accountable by our rank and file members. Now more than ever, we need a President who can lead. I continue to lead at the local level and the national level. Our union is daring and decent and ready for change. A change back to what our great union was built on. They had their moment. They have not led.
We will.
This is Your Union
